(Written in 1916, it was later revised to be included for the collection tittled "Garba" that received the "Premi Concepció Rabell 1927".)
Premiered: At the "Palau de la Música Catalana", Barcelona, November 18, 1928, by Emili Vendrell and Pere Vallribera in a concert organized by Manuel Clausells and Francesc Martí. [program].

La mar estava alegra, aquest migdia;
tot era brill i crit i flor d’escuma,
perquè feia molt sol i el vent corria.
Al lluny es veia un gran mantell de bruma.
Damunt les ones, amb les veles dretes,
les barques hi brincaven com cabretes.

(English translation)


The sea was joyful, at midday;
it was all glitter, and sound, and blossom of foam,
for the sun was shining bright and the wind was blowing.
In the distance, a large mantle of mist could be seen.
Over the surge, with the sails tight,
the boats jumped like young goats.

todo era brillo y grito y flor de espuma,
pues el sol mucho lucía y el viento corría.
A lo lejos, una gran cortina de bruma.
Sobre las olas, con las velas tiesas,
las barcas daban saltitos como cabritas.
